The location of this hut was stunning, surrounded by peaceful countryside and with plenty of things to do in the nearby area. the hosts were incredibly hospitable, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including fresh eggs and homemade bread. They even thoughtfully provided supplies for our dog. We felt at ease and could borrow whatever we needed. the fresh flowers and little touches like fresh towels and bathrobes added to the cozy atmosphere.
Although we enjoyed our stay, there were a couple of minor inconveniences. the bin in the hut could have been bigger, as it became full quickly during our three-night stay.

Beautiful garden with river views, perfect for hiking and fishing. Free WiFi kept me entertained when I wasn't enjoying the natural beauty of Dartmoor National Park. Had a great time with my own party, didn't have to worry about any annoying strangers.
Oh, I guess the nearest airport was just a tad too far away for my liking.

What a find! My daughter and I stayed in the Old Shepherds Hut for a relaxing break. The location is perfect, surrounded by trees and a river, offering tranquility and beautiful views. The hut itself is cozy, well-designed, and finished to a high standard. The owners provided thoughtful touches like freshly baked bread, ground coffee, and eggs from their free-range hens. The private garden area and fire pit were highlights, and the endless supply of wood made it even better. The owners are welcoming, friendly, and easy-going, adding to the enjoyable stay.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The hut was beautifully presented and had everything we needed. the private outside area overlooking the river was perfect for relaxing. Linda was a fantastic host and we enjoyed using the firepit each evening. Short drive to moor for hikes and local towns for meals. Easy access to Bude and Westwood Ho! for the beach. Would definitely return.

The privacy of the hut was just perfect, and the location was mind-blowing! We could easily access the road and other people, but still felt secluded. The view of the corn fields and stream was jaw-dropping, especially from the half cut door where we sipped our cuppas. The fresh bread and thoughtful leaflets made us feel super welcome. The little touches like fresh towels, bath robes, and tomatoes from the garden were amazing. The cozy bed with a TV over it and a window view of the stream was so relaxing. The fire pit with an endless supply of wood was the cherry on top. The hosts were friendly and easy-going, making our stay even more enjoyable.
